Setting a Precedent: The Evolution of the Australian Law Librarians'' Association 1969-2009 by Donald Barker, Fiona Brown, Graeme Johanson

This year is the 40th anniversary of the formation of the Association and to celebrate we are publishing a history of the association.

The book will be launched at the Conference Dinner on Thursday 3 September and copies of the book will be available from the LexisNexis stand at the conference.
Attached is a flyer with the details of the book.

For those attending the Conference Dinner, please note that transport will be provided.
Our transport provider will now be dropping everyone off at their own CBD hotel after the dinner. Collection arrangements to attend the dinner remain unchanged.

Tour update

Please note that the times for the Wednesday morning tours have changed and are now as follows:

8.30 am - 10.00 pm History Tour

This walking tour will go through some of the CBD streets outlining the historical significance of various buildings. The details for a satellite event by LexisNexis to be held on Wednesday afternoon (2nd September) has now been added to the Satellite Events page as well as the full Conference program.

The full Conference program, [tour information updated] including satellite events is now available.

The Trade Exhibition Plan shows the location for each of our Exhibitors in the Trade Exhibition.

Early registration and registration to attend the Welcome Reception finishes this Friday (31st July) for the 2009 ALLA Evolution Conference, 2 to 4 September 2009 in Darwin.

Please ensure that your registration is in by COB Darwin time on Friday 31st July to:

To register for the 2009 ALLA Evolution Conference please fill out a Registration Form and Tax Invoice "please forward completed registrations to Desliens" their contact details are on the last page of the form.

The early registration rate will definitely end on Friday 31st July 2009.

Registrations received after this date will not include the Welcome Reception social event – this deadline can not be extended.

Both events are free but you need to register. Details are available on the Satellite Events page.

Hurry - less than two weeks to to go until Early Registration and Welcome Reception registration closes

There is now less than 2 weeks left for delegates to save $$$ and to secure an invitation to the Welcome Reception.Get in quick to avoid disappointment!

To register for the 2009 ALLA Evolution Conference please visit the Registration page and fill out a "Registration Form and Tax Invoice".

The early registration rate will definitely close on Friday 31st July 2009.

Accommodation bookings close on 27 July.

Closing Speaker


The Committee is pleased to announce that our closing speaker will be Ted Egan, former Administrator of the NT.
Ted is author of "Justice for Allâ" (amongst other titles) in which he describes himself as a singer, songwriter, author and professional vagabond".
