Darwin is the Northern Territory's multi-cultural capital, famous for its Mindil Beach, Parap and Nightcliff markets and festivals, wonderful Asian cuisine and its massive natural harbour. Weather

May to September is known as the Dry season and is the most popular time of the year with visitors and locals. The humidity is at its lowest and the nights can become relatively cool. Average temperatures range from 19.3 - 32.6 degrees Centigrade. What to Wear

For the tropical climate lightweight summer clothing is the best. Most establishments will not allow T shirts and thongs.
Smarter casual clothing is worn in the evenings. Pack light comfortable clothing, comfortable walking shoes,
a hat, swimwear and sunglasses.

Transport

Buses: Public transport in Darwin is limited to the Darwin bus services. Darwin Bus Service  Evening and night services are quite limited so taxis are the best option. Taxis and Limousines: There are a few taxi services available in Darwin: City Radio Taxis 8981 3777; Darwin Radio Taxis 13 1008,

A taxi from the Darwin International Airport and the Darwin CBD will cost around $25.00 to $30.00 for a trip; there is also an
additional exit toll fee of $2.00.
The Airport Shuttle Service will provide a Pass for airport transfers and transport to the venue on Thursday and Friday;
details available on the Registration Form.

Internet and Wireless Access Services

There will be no general internet access available for delegate use during the Conference. Delegates have the option of purchasing access via the Darwin Convention Centre, or using local internet cafes and other publicly available Internet terminals. 

Wireless Internet Access

Wireless internet access will be available from Northern Territory Library during the period of the Conference; for details see below.
To register for Wireless Internet Access from the Darwin Convention Centre, please complete the wireless internet access section on the registration form. The cost is $50 per computer per day.
The Conference Organising Committee regrets that we are unable to provide technical advice on the installation and operation of wireless components.
