The Index covers the subject matter of principal public Acts of South Australia.

What is not included

This index does not include:

• references to regulations or rules of South Australia;
• subject content of private Acts and Acts of local or restricted application

Subject Headings

The subject headings used in this index have been developed according to standard thesaurus principles and the terms and concepts found in South Australian legislation. Existing indexes such as the Index to Subject Matter of Victorian Legislation 1999 (Office of Chief Parliamentary Counsel Victoria 1999) were consulted when compiling the initial Thesaurus.

Background to the Index

The Subject Index to South Australian Legislation is a collaborative effort of the Australian Law Librarians' Association (SA Division) which has made an ongoing commitment to ensure the Index is regularly updated and maintained.

The compilation of the original index was made possible through a generous grant from the Law Foundation of South Australia Incorporated.
